Yellow Class

The poem itself (even translated!) is quite difficult to read however if you're up for the challenge then this seems to be a good translation:

Alternatively, there are lots of resources here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-ks3-beowulf-index/zfbhpg8 which should help your understanding of the themes and main events!

Welcome to Yellow Class!

Hello! Welcome to Yellow Class' Class Page. We’re Miss Kostiw and Miss Rodgers; Class teachers for Year 6.

We love teaching Yellow Class because we think it’s the best year! We work very hard to make sure that all of our children are ready for the move into secondary school but make sure that we have as much fun as possible while we’re working!

Not only do we have lots of responsibilities within the school day, we also deliver Harvest boxes and visit the Offham community, get special training with Kent’s ‘Safety in Action’ and finally finish our year with one incredible residential trip to PGL Windmill Hill. That’s not all though, make sure you also stick around to see our star-studded production and Leavers’ Assembly before the academic year is up!

We are very fortunate in Yellow Class to have Mrs Price, Mr Hutchinson and Miss Wood to support us. Mrs Price speaks fluent French which always really impresses us and she teaches French for the rest of Key Stage 2. Mr Hutchinson works with us in the afternoon but likes to spend time with his two elderly bunnies - Bert and Ernie! Miss Wood has joined us as a support worker and was born in the Cape of Good Hope!

We love being in Year 6 – we hope you do too!

Remember to name your child’s property

A reminder that lost items are far more likely to return to their owners if they are clearly named! That includes any pens, pencil cases, lunch boxes etc as well as clothes.

Please do not hesitate to contact us throughout the term.

Many thanks,

Miss Kostiw and Miss Rodgers
