Orange Class

Dear Orange Class parents,

A short message from myself to say a big thank you for your continued support and care for the children and their learning during these unprecedented times. It will not always be easy and I know some days will seem harder than others but I appreciate every single effort that contributes to your child's learning and believe me every accomplishment, no matter how small, will have a positive impact. I am looking forward to the day we can all be in the same room again!

Take care and stay safe,
Miss Brady

Miss Brady:

Welcome to Orange Class!

Welcome to our class page. My name is Miss Brady and I am the class teacher in Orange Class.

I work alongside Mrs Thomas and Mrs Wilson who are our teaching assistants.

We have a fun-filled year ahead of us with many new topics to explore such as World War Two, Aztecs, Anglo Saxons and many more! I particularly enjoy teaching English and love to read, involving drama in our lessons and exploring different books and ideas that we can share together as a class.

There are also many exciting opportunities to look forward to in Orange Class, such as Maypole dancing on the village green on Mayday and our residential trip to Kingswood.

We are enjoying working together as a team and helping Orange Class fulfil their full potential.

This Term's Learning

Term 4, 2020

Dear Parents,

Here are the list of topics being taught in Orange Class this term:

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tullane

By Kate Dicamillo

Fractions, decimals and percentages

Space (Week 1)

North America (Week 2)

Christianity (Week 4)

Easter Songs

Databases (Week 3)

Maypole and Football

Alphabet and Numbers to 100

PE Kits

Please make sure that your child has their full PE kit in school at ALL times. At the very least they should have T-shirt, shorts and plimsolls in school. They will need the kits for both Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings.

Each Friday, your child will be given 7 statutory words (that may include a maths term) and 7 words from a spelling pattern. I will then add on 2 extra words based on the spelling pattern in their test each week to make 16 spellings.

Times tables

We will be doing times table challenges most Wednesdays. Times tables are extremely important in their numeracy and are linked to lots of topics in the curriculum e.g. division, fractions. Please encourage your child to practise daily at home. As well as this, the children now have their TTRS logins and are set 15 new practice sets to be complete by each Wednesday.

Bug Club

Children have been allocated books which they can access using their bug club login. Their username should be the first four letters of their first name and the first four letters of their surname. The password is: Offhampupil123

A special thanks goes to all of our parents in Orange class for your continued support with the children's home learning. We have been truly blown away by the amazing homework we have received last term and we appreciate the time and effort it can take to achieve some of these amazing creations!

Many thanks for your supports,

Miss Brady, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Wilson
