Wellbeing Council
At Offham Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and well-being of our pupils. Research into child development and neuroscience all provide us with the understanding of the direct correlation between positive mental health and optimum educational outcomes. If well-being is high, then children can reach their full potential.
Part of this was the achievement of the Well-being Award for Schools in 2022, although we know that this is not the end of our journey to improve well-being for our pupils.
This year, classes voted for 2 representatives to join the well-being council. Here are the actions for terms one and two submitted by the council:

Academic Year 2025-2026

Term One Actions: Children to complete a pupil voice to find out if the idea to wear own clothes to school on our birthday is a good idea for our well-being. |
Meeting to be arranged with RP Monday 6/10 to pitch our idea. |

Term 2 Actions: Children to put posters up for Odd Socks day (10th November). Children to prepare to run the assembly. LR to organise the visit to Lavenders Care Home. (2nd December) |
Term 2 Completed: Assembly run Care Home visited

Term 3 Actions: Well-being to run assembly for Children's Mental Health Week.
LR have a look at previous school newspapers/see what’s available. Children have suggested a school newspaper.
LR to discuss another date for care home visit. Children keen to keep the visits going to build relationships in the community. |
Term 3 Completed:
Children run the assembly successfully.
LR emailed care home for possible Term 4 dates. |
